Sober Housing Initiative

The APT Foundation recognizes the importance of a generous benefits package to attract and retain its valuable workforce team and remains committed to continuing to provide an extraordinary and competitive program. We continue to strive to modify our benefits package to best meet the evolving needs of our staff and programs, as we work to improve, and expand the services we provide to the community.

Medical and Hospital Insurance: APT offers a choice of two medical and hospital insurance plans to full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week. Coverage begins the first of the month following one month of employment.

Dental Insurance: APT offers a dental plan for full-time APT employees who work 30 or more hours per week. Coverage begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment. This is an employee paid benefit.

Flexible Spending: APT offers a flexible spending account for full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week. Coverage begins the first of the month following one month of employment.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): The EAP provides trained assistance to employees regarding a wide range of personal difficulties that may directly affect home life, health or job performance. EAP service providers are multi-cultural and multi-lingual.

Group Life Insurance: APT provides a life insurance policy in an amount equal to one year’s base salary (maximum 100,000) to all full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week. APT also provides coverage for eligible dependents. There is a waiting period for eligibility. This is an employee paid benefit.

Paid Time Off (P.T.O): Vacation, personal, and sick days accrue according to years of service. Full-time non-exempt employees who work on an APT Paid Holiday are paid for the Holiday and paid their regular hourly rate for actual hours worked on the Holiday.

  • 0-4 Years of Service: 20 Days (4 Weeks)
  • 5+ Years of Service or position of selected job classification: 30 Days (6 Weeks).
  • 7 Paid Holidays will be provided ( New Year Day, M.L. King Day, Memorial Day,
  • Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day)
  • Jury Duty
  • Bereavement and Birth and Adoption ( 3 Days)

Voluntary Life Insurance: APT offers Supplemental Life insurance for you, your spouse, and eligible children. All employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for this benefit.

Voluntary Short Term Disability: APT offers Voluntary Short Term Disability insurance for any employee working 20 or more hours per week. The insurance becomes available on the 30th day of injury or sickness and pays up to 60 % of weekly wage (maximum $1000). The duration of the benefit is 22 weeks. This is an employee paid benefit.

Long Term Disability Insurance: APT provides long term disability insurance to all full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week. The insurance becomes available after 180 continuous days of disability and pays up to 60% of monthly salary (maximum $5,000). There is a waiting period for eligibility.

Pension Plan: APT offers a pension plan through Teacher’s Insurance and Annuity Association/College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA/CREF). This plan is available to all full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week. Eligibility begins one year from the date of employment in a qualifying position.

Tuition Reimbursement: APT offers tuition reimbursement for full-time APT employees who work 30 hours or more per week to take courses in areas which are job related or of direct benefit to the Foundation. The APT Foundation pays up to $3,800 per fiscal year. Always consult Human Resources before enrolling if reimbursement is necessary to your decision. Reimbursement is predicted on the following conditions.

  1. The individual must be a full-time employee who is on the payroll both at the beginning and completion of said course, and who has completed six months of service immediately prior to the start of the course.
  2. The individual must show successful completion of said course with a grade of C or a pass and must not be on academic probation.
  3. The institution must be accredited.
  4. The employee must show a canceled check or a receipt as proof that payment has been made to the institution.
  5. The courses taken are not toward a doctoral degree.
  6. Course attendance is not during regularly scheduled work hours.

License/Certification Reimbursement: APT offers reimbursement for the cost of license and CADC certification renewal that is directly job related. APT employees in regular positions (full-time or part-time) are eligible. A request for reimbursement will be made upon Human Resource’s receipt of the renewed license or certification.

In Service Training Program: The APT Foundation offers an In-Service Training Program throughout the year for al its employees. This program consists of a wide assortment of courses designed to acquaint you with various issues related to the field of substance abuse treatment and research. There are requirements within the In-Service Program which your supervisor will discuss with you.
